The Future Of Home Servers especially low power CPUs
One of the hottest categories in the PC industry right now is the netbook, which are small, cheap laptops using a low power CPU, such a the Intel Atom, or the Via Nano (or the older Via C7). One of the potential breakout categories for 2009 or 2010 is the home server, or home Network Accessible Storage sytem….and they may be shaped by the netbook revolution.

I've Got The Power – Low Power Media Center PCs
In the early days of consumer computer technology, the race was always "I've got more power" in the box – Intel and AMD competed entirely on how much processing power was available in a single chip; when raising clock speeds became problematic, the competition shifted towards getting more processing oomph out of a single clock cycle. Intel's Hyperthreading is what took the lead here with the Pentium 4, and then multi-core CPUs came out.
